Rising Stories #56: Kimberly MacNeill

Today my guest is an author who seeks to live out her faith in so many different ways throughout her life.

Kimberly MacNeill is an advocate for women in her community and is one of those women who, when you meet her, you instantly want her to become your new best friend. We met while collaborating on an event for Women in the Workplace, which is both of our passions. Kimberly is the minister to women at a church here in the Nashville area and she is the author of Whispers: Transforming Words for Your Ever-Changing Life

Kimberly also speaks all around the country to women about going deeper in their Christian faith and their ever-changing life. Her story is different in that her speaking and teaching ministry came first and then she wrote her book. Listen as she speaks more about preaching & being an author. Here is my conversation with Kimberly MacNeill.

Rising Stories #55: Tamra Davis

A few years ago I found myself watching a cooking show on Youtube. Little did I know that the cook was also an amazing director. Tamra Davis began her career directing music videos for acts like Hanson, The Bangles, Britney Spears, Depeche Mode, and The Beastie Boys. (Side note: Tamra married Mike D of The Beastie Boys back in 1993.) She has since directed feature films such as Billy Madison & Half Baked. Now you will find her directing for TV on shows like Grey’s Anatomy, Ugly Betty, and my two favorites, Odd Mom Out & Younger, just to name a few.

Listen as Tamra and I discuss women directors and how she is on a mission to help empower women in authority positions. We also talk about some of the talented actresses she has worked with on these shows. Every morsel of this interview is priceless and I can't wait for you to hear her story.

Rising Stories #50: Jamie Ivey

Hooray, it’s my 50th episode of Rising Stories Podcast! I can’t tell you how excited I am that I have made it this far and can’t even begin to tell you how much fun this journey has been. I want to thank you, the listener, for hanging in there with me through all of these episodes and I cannot wait for you all to hear the next fifty!

My special guest today is a lady who is a fellow podcaster who encouraged me to launch my own podcast. In 2014 Jamie Ivey began her podcast called The Happy Hour, which is now one of the most popular Christian podcasts out there. She is a wife and a mom of four living in Austin, Texas. Jamie is now doing speaking engagements all across the country, and I hear that she is also writing a book.

Jamie and I talk about the choices we have as women who run businesses, and the line between what is ministry and what is business. We also talk about what we just love about podcasting and our not-so-favorite things about podcasting.
