Do these 5 things before going to bed on Sunday to stay productive all week long.
Everyone is talking about what successful people do during the first few hours of their day. But the real work happens in laying a good foundation for the week. Sunday night is that night where you can set yourself up for success. These five must do’s will help you stay productive and on your game all week long.
Become aware of last week’s achievements
Noting your achievements helps you find a sense of pride and confidence in yourself & in your abilities. This will bring you peace and assurance for the week ahead. When we are tired all we can see is the mountain before us, but if we can remind ourselves how awesome and powerful we were in past situations it’s all the proof that we can and will triumph again.
Release Your Worries
No amount of worrying will change anything today or any day. But going to bed with a load of worry will keep your mind ticking and prevent you from getting a restful night’s sleep. Instead of worrying, write them down on a brain dump list to release your problems. You can attack those tasks in the morning when you can make a clear action plan.
Express Gratitude
Don’t make this one tough, just jot down three things you are thankful for in work, home life or personal life. Appreciating your life helps you realize how much you already have and what is right in your world. This is different than listing your achievements, this is gratitude for what you have that most likely won’t change any time soon, things like having a great team, a comfortable home, or an understanding partner. Nothing is too small or too big to list here. Gratefulness helps us go into the week with a greater appreciation for our life, giving us a better outlook. All good.
Make it Count: Relax
Find some time on Sunday to relax and do what it takes to clear your mind. If it’s a long hot bath, a long nap, watching a basketball game or maybe taking a walk, whatever it is, find your way to relax. Do something worthy of a Sunday.
Care about Self Care
Give your body, mind and soul time to unwind. Give it a rest from digesting by eating your last morsel two hours before bedtime. Get your body temperature ready for a restful night’s sleep with a hot shower or face mask. Feed your soul with good news words to meditate on or calming music to lull you to sleep. The end results here is waking up fully rested, not feeling full from over eating the night before and a clear mind and body.
Doing these things will help you stay focused on Monday. “Rinse” and repeat these steps to keep your mojo going all week long.
