5 Ways to Stay Productive During the Holidays

It’s December and we have being using a lot of our brain power on decorating our homes, presents, making lists, and holiday parties. However, we still have to work at our jobs and keep our commitments. So, it’s time to share these productivity tips to help you get things done at work and for the holidays.

1. Set Goals & Work Smarter: Figure out what tasks are most important and when they need to be completed. Stick to a concrete schedule and stay away from indecisiveness. Communicate with your managers and co-workers so you can get down to business.

2. Avoid the Crowds & Beat the Rush: Wake up a bit earlier and shop before work or when the stores open to beat the rush. If you can’t shop weekday mornings, get up early and hit the stores early on Saturdays. 


3. Get in the holiday season: Your work will go smoother if you are in a good mood. Keep your focus on the work instead of your time off. The time will go back faster if we stay on task If your mind wanders to your holiday lists, take a five-minute break and start over with new energy.

4. Stay fit: We all know exercise reduces the amount of stress you feel. Walking or any other cardio/strength training can help with the excess energy that might otherwise go to fretting about issues at work. Try to do at least 30 min a day.

5. Keep shopping and gift-giving simple:  For some reason, we overthink our gift-giving during the holiday season, as if that wonderful gift isn’t enough because the calendar says it’s December when any other month of the year it’s a great gift to give and receive.
